Had a lot of fun last night hiking Spencer's Butte with Moni, Grant, Jim and of course Mike the wonder dog. We watched the sunset, and discovered we could see all 3 sisters, and Mt. Bachelor in the distance. Beautiful. The wildflowers were in beautiful bloom, and none of us remembered ever seeing the trail so croweded by foliage. It was actually very pretty. We'll see if I can recover from the pollen.

Weekend in Sun River

We had a great time this weekend in Sun River and the surrounding area...even though it rained, and it never got very warm. We went to the Newberry Caldera and saw the obsidian flows, the Paulina Lakes, and this waterfall. Then we went in the lava tubes/cave...holy crap that's a long tunnel! So cool! We were pretty glad we had enough quarters to pay for the $3 lantern :) Saturday we went to the Deschutes Brewery and got the tour and free beer and buffet at the beginning and end...crazy. Went to a Chili Cook Off in Sun River, and "A Bite of Bend" in the Old Mill District. Bought a tank top at Gap, and went swimming 2 times. So sad Ember & Mark are moving next weekend.

Graduation Update

So here's how it really went...

I burned the palm of my hand on the curling iron, and had to do with poorly straightened hair. But that was ok, because it rained anyway. It started raining during Dean Kauffman's first speech, and stopped just in time for us to cross the stage dry. It started raining again as the undergrads crossed. Afterward we went to Mac's, and had a good time with the family.

Graduation Day

Today I graudate. I will walk across the college of ed ceremony stage in the rain in my gargantuan robe with the poofy sleeves and silly hood I can't figure out. I will try not to slip because my shoes have no traction, and it will probably be wet. I will be handed my diploma cover by Dean Kauffman, and hug Jill, and Pat, and probably someone else that doesn't remember my name, and smile. How fun this day will be. Then we will have dinner.

I will be so happy.

But first I must do my laundry.
